Fulltext PDFQuality Assurance (QA) is an element of Quality Management (QM). QA is an original duty of service providers in medicine. It begins with the systematic collection of data from the respective [health care] processes with the aim of converting the documented quality into measurable parameters. The goal is to generate indicators that quantify the documented quality. The preferred instruments of QA are quality registries. Examples of Quality Indicators from the German Society for Vascular Surgery and Vascular Medicine (DGG) Varicose Vein Quality Registry are presented.
